The final in a series of three blog posts from Drew with even more social media tricks for small business.

9. Get To Know Your Facebook Fan Base

If you don’t know who your fans are, you won’t know what content to publish. Posting the wrong content will help you lose likes, not drive likes. The “people” tab will help you better understand the users who share and engage with your page’s content. Here you can choose data on demographic information and narrow your data down to people you’ve reached, who’ve engaged with content, or who’ve checked in within the past 28 days. You can also see check-in, age, sex, and location comparison reports, and detailed explanations.

This video will help you better understand how you can get to know your fans better, in order to target them with the right content and drive likes:

10. Use Social Media to Increase your SEO Rank

If you spend any time advertising online, you probably hear the acronym SEO a lot. SEO stands for search engine optimization, and it entails improving your website’s ranking in web search results. Using SEO helps people see your site first when they search for things relevant to it. If you’re new to the world of SEO, it can be a daunting beast to tackle.

Adding social media accounts to Moz allows you to monitor social interactions on Facebook and Twitter, right from your Moz dashboard, making it easier to understand how your social media efforts are influencing your SEO efforts. We have a great video to help you better understand how to add your accounts to Moz campaigns, and get the most out of your social dashboard.

I like the “getting to know your Facebook fanbase” point, afterall, isn’t that the point of social media anyway? Who knows what resources you could get out of your Facebook fans! They say Linkedin is the professionally resourceful social network, but who’s to say Facebook couldn’t be just as useful..
