01 May Watch out for these vultures!
There’s a new breed of broadcast stations out there stalking publicity hungry small businesses and proprietors. They’re actually “pay for play” but they try to come across as real editorial outlets. Unfortunately, by the time they feel they’ve hooked you, they let you know how that it will cost you. And then they literally stalk you for weeks. World Business Review is one of the worst, and sadly, General Norman Schwarzkopf is their main “bait.” Supposedly you get interviewed by Schwarzkopf for a “major news network.” It’s just a ploy…it’s advertorial at its worst and no one watches. And the price tag? A heftly $30,000. Another one is InStyle Television. $6,000 for a 30 second mention on their show. Frankly, you can buy a better rotation on your local television station for $6,000. Watch out for these guys! If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
