What happened to August?

It was a pretty wild month beginning with the Olympics and finishing up with the DFL and RNC conventions. Even uber-publicists were shut out from talking to producers at the major news media because all eyes were focused on these events. I guess the point I’m trying to make is that when you’re planning any kind of event – a book launch, a news release or even just a great party, it’s important to check the calendars for major events that might silence your own pr thunder. That doesn’t mean there won’t be breaking news that could do the same, but if you check regularly for major events and avoid releasing during those timeframes you could avoid doing alot of work with little result.
